Bronny James Released From Hospital Following Cardiac Arrest At USC

Encouraging update on Bronny James, the eldest son of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James.

Bronny James has been discharged from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles following a sudden cardiac arrest. The incident occurred during a practice session at the University of Southern California (USC) on Monday. Thanks to the swift and effective response by the USC athletics' medical staff, Bronny was successfully treated and arrived at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center fully conscious, neurologically intact, and stable.

Merije Chukumerije, the consulting cardiologist for James, released a statement through Cedars-Sinai on Thursday. He said, "Mr. James was cared for promptly by highly-trained staff and has been discharged home, where he is resting. Although his workup will be ongoing, we are hopeful for his continued progress and are encouraged by his response, resilience, and his family and community support."

LeBron James expressed his gratitude for the outpouring of love and prayers his family has received. In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, he wrote, "We feel you and I'm so grateful. Everyone doing great. We have our family together, safe and healthy, and we feel your love."

Bronny, an 18-year-old freshman at USC, was preparing for an exhibition tour in Croatia and Greece with his team. The 6-foot-3 guard was ranked No. 20 in the ESPN 100 for the 2023 class.
