Capital Prep, a charter school co-founded by Diddy in East Harlem, has come under scrutiny following a report by The Cut detailing numerous issues at the institution. Parents and students have accused the school of being a violent and dysfunctional environment, with allegations of frequent violence, unstable leadership, and a high rate of teacher resignations. These problems were particularly exacerbated during the pandemic, leading to significant disruptions in both virtual and in-person learning.

Despite Diddy's initial involvement and a $1 million pledge for expansion, his connection with the school has seemingly diminished, especially after Capital Prep cut ties with him amid his ongoing sexual assault lawsuits. The school's challenges have raised concerns about its ability to provide a safe and effective educational environment, with some students reportedly struggling to transfer credits or enroll in college due to transcript issues.

Despite these controversies, 500 students from grades six through 12 still currently attend Capital Prep.
