Kendrick Lamar Mocks Drake With Deposition Skit at GNX Tour Kickoff

Kendrick Lamar took another swipe at Drake during the opening night of his Grand National Tour with SZA in Minneapolis on April 19, 2025.
Before performing his Grammy-winning diss track “Not Like Us,” Kendrick played a pre-recorded skit styled like a legal deposition—clearly referencing Drake’s ongoing defamation lawsuit against Universal Music Group.
In the skit, an attorney questions Kendrick about his Super Bowl halftime performance on February 9, a date Drake highlights in his legal complaint.
When asked about the date’s importance, Kendrick casually replies, “I don’t keep up with dates.”
The lawyer also references the phrase “Drop, drop, drop, drop,” pulled from Drake’s track “Family Matters,” prompting Kendrick to smirk before launching into “Not Like Us.”
Fans pointed out that the deposition parody seemed to nod to Lil Wayne’s infamous 2012 deposition, adding another layer to the diss.
Kendrick’s 52-song setlist also featured performances of “Luther,” “30 for 30,” and “All the Stars.”
SZA’s set included insect-themed visuals, with a giant praying mantis appearing during her performance of “Kill Bill.”
Kendrick’s performance blended sharp commentary and stage theatrics, pushing his feud with Drake even further into the spotlight.
