Nicki Minaj House Swatted Again After Alleged Home Shooting

Nicki Minaj's home in the San Fernando Valley was the target of another swatting incident on Saturday afternoon. According to reports, law enforcement arrived at her residence with sirens and lights blaring in response to a bogus 911 call claiming a shooting at her mansion.

This is not the first time the "Good Form" artist has been the victim of such an incident. In June, a false report was made to child welfare officials alleging abuse of Minaj's three-year-old son, whom she publicly refers to as "Papa Bear". After officers arrived and conducted an examination, they determined the child was safe and healthy.

However, the family was awakened early the next morning, around 3 a.m., after another bogus call was made to 911, this time reporting a fire at the home. When firefighters arrived, they found no flames, and it was quickly determined that the couple had been victims of 'swatting', a term used to describe the act of making a false report to provoke a large-scale police response.

Making a false 911 call is illegal in California and can result in felony or misdemeanor charges, fines, and jail time. The number of swatting cases has jumped from 400 cases in 2011 to more than 1,000 in 2019, according to estimates by former FBI agent Kevin Kolbye.

Despite these incidents, Minaj has been celebrating the success of her "Barbie World" collaboration with Ice Spice and Aqua for the Barbie movie soundtrack. The song had the highest streaming day for a rap song on Spotify so far this year with five million listens.
