Big U, Bricc Baby, Luce Cannon, and Rollin 60s Crips Arrested in RICO Bust

Eugene "Big U" Henley Jr. has been arrested on federal charges.
Authorities claim he was the leader of a "mafia-like" organization linked to the Rollin' 60s Neighborhood Crips. They allege he used his influence to engage in widespread criminal activity while maintaining a public image as a community activist.
Henley, 58, is facing conspiracy charges under the RICO Act. The indictment includes allegations of extortion, human trafficking, fraud, and murder. Prosecutors say he leveraged his gang connections to intimidate businesses and individuals across Los Angeles.
Despite presenting himself as a music executive and anti-gang activist, investigators claim he used his nonprofit organization, Developing Options, as a front for fraudulent activities. The charity, which was intended to support at-risk youth, is now suspected of being a tool for financial crimes.
One of the most serious charges involves the 2021 murder of an aspiring rapper. The victim allegedly recorded a song that contained lyrics insulting Henley. Authorities believe this led to a confrontation in Las Vegas, where Henley allegedly shot the rapper and disposed of the body in the Nevada desert.
Following the unsealing of the federal complaint, Henley surrendered to authorities. Before his arrest, he posted on social media, defending his work in the community and claiming that the charges were part of a larger systemic bias against Black leaders.
If convicted, Henley faces a potential life sentence in federal prison. The case raises deeper questions about the blurred lines between genuine community activism and organized crime.
