Despite being on tour in Australia, members of Drake's entourage, including OVO Chubbs and Canadian rapper Preme, took time to watch Kendrick Lamar's Super Bowl halftime performance. A video circulating online shows them viewing the show on a widescreen TV in what appears to be a hotel lobby.
During his concert in Melbourne on February 10, Drake subtly addressed his ongoing feud with Lamar. While performing Knife Talk, he altered the lyrics to emphasize his resilience, rapping: "Beef is live, spoiler alert: I never died," instead of the original line, "Beef is live, spoiler alert, this n-gga dies."
Kendrick Lamar's halftime show included several references to his rivalry with Drake. At one point, Lamar teased the audience by saying, "I want to perform their favorite song… but you know they love to sue," a nod to Drake's defamation lawsuit against Universal Music Group over Not Like Us. During the performance of that song, Lamar self-censored a controversial line but continued delivering pointed lyrics aimed at Drake.
The performance also featured a surprise appearance by Serena Williams, Drake's ex-girlfriend, who was seen Crip Walking on an elevated stage as Not Like Us transitioned into TV Off. The show concluded with the crowd displaying the words "Game Over," keeping in line with the performance's video game theme.
These events highlight the ongoing tension between the two artists, with both sides making public statements and gestures that keep their rivalry in the spotlight.
