Shannon Sharpe Denies Rape Allegation as Lawyer Releases Shocking Audio and Text Messages

Shannon Sharpe is facing a $50 million civil lawsuit filed by a woman, referred to as Jane Doe, who accuses him of sexually assaulting her twice in late 2024 and early 2025.
The lawsuit claims that their nearly two-year relationship, which began after they met at a Los Angeles gym in 2023, included physical abuse, emotional distress, threats, and unauthorized recording of sexual encounters.
Sharpe’s attorney, Lanny J. Davis, has denied the allegations, calling the lawsuit an attempt to extort millions of dollars.
Davis also addressed a controversial audio recording in which a man allegedly threatens to choke the accuser, explaining that it was made in the “heat of the moment” during an argument and should not be taken literally.
Sharpe himself has labeled the lawsuit a “shakedown” and accused the accuser’s attorney, Tony Buzbee, of targeting Black men, citing similar lawsuits involving other celebrities.
He has called for the full, unedited video of the alleged encounter to be released to provide more context.
Sharpe also plans to countersue both the accuser and Buzbee for defamation.
The case continues to generate public and legal attention as both sides prepare for further proceedings.
