The project serves as a sequel to his 2020 album Daystar and was recorded entirely from prison.

In a social media post, Lanez emphasized that this comeback is "personal," sharing the album cover, which features a shirtless image of himself behind bars.

He also described the album as "the first ever in-real-time prison album," claiming it captures his raw emotions while incarcerated.
