Big U Denies All Charges in Sweeping Federal Case

Eugene Henley Jr., better known as Big U, has pleaded not guilty to a series of serious federal charges.
He appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom and entered a not guilty plea on all counts.
His trial is set to begin on May 20.
If convicted, he could face life in prison.
Federal prosecutors allege that Henley led a group known as the “Big U Enterprise.”
They claim he used his influence with the Rollin’ 60s and other gangs to extort businesses and individuals across L.A.
The indictment includes charges like murder, extortion, robbery, sex trafficking, fraud, and illegal gambling.
After the charges were unsealed on March 19, Henley denied all allegations on social media.
“I ain't been nothing but a help to our community,” he wrote.
He added, “This is the price of being Black and trying to help your community and do what you can.”
The case includes accusations of RICO violations, wire fraud, bank fraud, and tax evasion.
U.S. Attorney Joseph McNally said the charges aim to make Los Angeles safer.
He stated that Henley allegedly led a criminal enterprise whose actions harmed both citizens and public institutions.
The situation remains ongoing as Henley prepares to fight the case in court.
