TDE’s Punch Reveals How Kendrick Lamar Handled Things After Dropping His “Like That” Drake Diss

Top Dawg Entertainment president Terrence “Punch” Henderson recently shed light on the origins of Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s long-running feud.
In a conversation with Curtiss King, Punch pointed to Kendrick’s 2013 verse on Big Sean’s “Control” as the spark.
On that track, Kendrick called out several rappers by name, including Drake, in a bold move that many saw as a challenge to his peers.
Though the verse was framed as competitive, it planted the seeds for years of tension between the two.
Over time, subtle shots were exchanged, with the rivalry simmering just beneath the surface.
Things flared up again in 2023 when J. Cole dubbed himself, Drake, and Kendrick the “Big Three” in his track “First Person Shooter.”
Kendrick fired back in 2024 on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That,” rejecting the “Big Three” label and reasserting his dominance.
That verse reignited the feud and kicked off the series of diss tracks that followed.
