Lil Wayne Says NFL Played With His Emotions, Skipped Watching Kendrick Lamar's Halftime Show

Lil Wayne recently opened up about his disappointment over not being chosen to perform at the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show in his hometown of New Orleans.
Wayne admitted he had hoped for the opportunity and made efforts behind the scenes to make it happen, but the NFL ultimately selected Kendrick Lamar for the performance.
He described the moment as heartbreaking, saying, “They stole that feeling. I don't want to do it. It was perfect.”
Wayne also shared that he didn’t watch Kendrick’s performance, instead choosing to play pool and smoke outside during the show.
Still, there’s no bad blood between the two. Wayne said he reached out to Lamar before the game to wish him luck and told him to “kill it.”
Now, Wayne is shifting his focus to his upcoming album, Tha Carter VI, which is scheduled for release on June 6, 2025.
He teased collaborations with artists like Billie Eilish, Andrea Bocelli, and Miley Cyrus, hinting at a wide-ranging sound for the project.
