Drake Cites “The Joe Budden Podcast” in Amended UMG Lawsuit Targeting Kendrick Lamar

Drake has expanded his defamation lawsuit against Universal Music Group, now claiming Kendrick Lamar's performances of “Not Like Us” at the Super Bowl and Grammy Awards further defamed him.
He argues that the massive exposure of those performances amplified the song’s message and led to increased threats against him and his family.
Drake alleges that UMG promoted the track to profit off of the controversy and damage his reputation.
In a surprising twist, Drake’s legal team cited comments made on The Joe Budden Podcast suggesting that Lamar’s team used bots to inflate the song’s popularity.
Critics were quick to point out that the podcast carries disclaimers noting its content is for entertainment only, raising doubts about its reliability as evidence.
UMG has called the amended lawsuit baseless and accused Drake of using the legal system to deal with the fallout from his public feud with Lamar.
The label insists it acted within its rights and continues to support creative freedom for its artists.
The case is ongoing as both sides prepare for the next phase of legal proceedings.
