Tay-K Convicted of Murder, Cleared of Capital Murder Charge

Rapper Tay-K, known for his viral hit “The Race,” has been found guilty of murder for the second time.
A jury in Bexar County, Texas, convicted him for the 2017 shooting of 23-year-old photographer Mark Anthony Saldivar, which happened while Tay-K was on the run after escaping house arrest.
He was acquitted of capital murder, which would have meant a mandatory life sentence, but still faces between five and 99 years in prison.
This adds to his existing 55-year sentence for a 2016 home invasion that led to the death of 21-year-old Ethan Walker. Tay-K was 17 at the time and gained notoriety for releasing “The Race” while on the run.
